General Provisions

  • Collection days are scheduled by area. Please refer to the inside map for your day of collection. Call Public Works at (630) 226-8800 if you need clarification concerning your pickup day.
  • Hours of collection are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Collection will NOT be provided on the following holidays:
    • New Year's Day
    Labor Day
    Memorial Day
    Thanksgiving Day
    Independence Day
    Christmas Day

If one of these holidays falls on your scheduled pickup day, collection will be made the next day, and all pickups for the remainder of the week will also be one day later. Sunday holidays will be observed on Monday with all days delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

Curbside Bag Pickup

  • Maximum 33 gallon bag, not to exceed sixty pounds (60 lbs). NO CANS are allowed to be placed curbside.
  • Unlimited number of bags will be picked up each week.
  • One (1) bulk item per household per week may be placed at the curb for pickup. Bulk items include washers, dryers, water heaters, furnaces, ranges, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners etc. Please call Groot Industries at 1-888-485-0900 to arrange for appliance pickup.
  • Carpet must be cut into 4' lengths, and rolled into rolls no more than 18" in diameter. One (1) room of carpeting is allowed per week.

Free Fall Leaf Pickup

  • During the fall leaf season, Groot Industries will be picking up biodegradable paper bags containing leaves - No cans allowed for leaf pickup.
  • THERE WILL BE NO VILLAGE LEAF PICKUP- DO NOT RAKE THE LEAVES INTO THE STREET.
  • There is no limit to the number of biodegradable Kraft bags you can set out for pickup on your scheduled collection day.

Free Landscape Waste Collection

The landscape waste collection season 1s April 1 through December 15.

  • THERE WILL BE NO VILLAGE BRANCH PICKUP IN THE SPRING AND FALL. Properly bundled/bagged branches may be placed at the curb on your scheduled collection day each week of the landscape collection season. No cans allowed. Sod and dirt is considered refuse and will be collected as refuse.
  • Landscape waste must be packaged in a Kraft paper bag not exceeding thirty three (33) gallons of capacity and not weighing more than sixty (60) pounds.
  • Brush, vines and/or branches may also be bundled. No such piece of brush, vine, or branch shall exceed three (3) inches in diameter (the bundle shall not exceed two (2) feet in diameter & four (4) feet in length, nor weigh more than sixty (60) pounds). Said bundle shall be securely tied only with jute string - plastic ties or rope is prohibited.

Free Christmas Tree Pickup

  • Groot Industries will pickup and recycle your Christmas tree free of charge.
  • Please remove all ornamentations, tinsel or garland prior to placing your tree at the curb for pickup on your regularly scheduled collection day.

Spring Clean-up Week

  • Clean-up week is scheduled for the last full week of March on your normal pickup day.
  • Unlimited bulk items and unlimited amounts of refuse will be picked up.
  • Does not include construction or demolition debris normally requiring a special roll-off container.
